Every bride-to-be wants their wedding to be special, memorable in some way. Having unique wedding vows is one way to make that happen.
I wrote my own wedding vows for my wedding. Afterward, I created a photo book and I incorporated our wedding vows into the book next to photos of our wedding ceremony. I will always be able to look at that book and reflect on the unique vows that we shared with each other.
Only you can create the most unique wedding vows for you and your partner by including things in your vows that represent who you are as individuals and/or as a couple. Here I will share with you sample wedding vows that are unique, written by me for you to use. Remember though that by including your own individuality to them you can truly make them unique to you.
Brides Vow to Groom
Using the quote “There is only one happiness in life—to love and be loved.” by George Sands
I, (Bride's Name) take you (Groom's Name) to be my husband, my lover, my best friend.
I know there is only one happiness in life—to love and be loved. (Groom's Name), I have found that one happiness with you. You have shown me what love is and how it feels to truly be loved. From this day forward I promise to continue to love you as much a you love me. I promise to forever continue to share this life of happiness with you and love with you until the end of time.
Grooms Vow to Bride
Using the quote “I love you not only for what you are, but for what I am when I am with you.” by Roy Croft
I, (Groom's Name) take you (Bride's Name) to be my wife, my lover, my best friend.
I love you not only for what you are, but for what I am when I am with you. (Bride's Name), you have brought out the best in me and I love who we are together. For that reason, I have asked you to be my wife and I promise I will love you and share this life of happiness with you until the end of time.
Bride Vow to Groom
using the quote “ In the arithmetic of love, one plus one equals everything, and two minus one equals nothing.” by Mignon McLauglin (great for math teachers!)
In the arithmetic of love, one plus one equals everything, and two minus one equals nothing. Today (Groom's Name), I, (Bride's Name) take you to be my husband, because I have realized that without you I feel like nothing. (Groom' Name), my life is so much more complete with you in it and today and forever I promise to be the one for you that adds to your life so that together we equal everything.
Grooms Vow to Bride
Today (Bride's Name), I, (Groom's Name) take you to be my bride. You have completed the equation in my life that for so long was missing the common denominator to make it complete. (Bride's Name), today and forever I also promise to add to your life all the love and everything that I can so that together we will always equal everything.
Here is a set of unique wedding vows written in poem form
Today, I (Bride's Name) take you (Groom's name) to be my husband,
And... on this day, as we wed,
I promise to love you
In and out of bed.
I will honor you, respect you,
I will cherish you too
I promise to love you
And everything you do.
Today as we become
Husband and wife
I will give you all my love
I give you my life.
Today, I (Groom's Name) take you (Bride's name) to be my wife,
And... on this day, as we wed,
I promise to love you
Until the day we're dead.
I will honor you, trust you
And cherish you forever
I will respect you and love you
Which is my deepest endeavor.
Today as we become
Husband and wife
I will give you all my love
I give you my life.
